Privacy Policy
Pickle is an iOS app for saving links, photos and notes, made by Misha Naer (“we”). This policy explains what Pickle stores, where it goes and how to remove it. We don’t show ads, we don’t track you across apps or websites, and we don’t sell personal information.
Without an account
You can use Pickle without signing in. Your saves stay on your iPhone: notes and card details in the app’s storage, photos you add copied into the app’s files, and your latest saves in the Pickle widget. Nothing is sent to us.
Your account
Signing in uses Sign in with Apple. We receive an Apple user identifier, your name if you choose to share it, and an email address (Apple may give us a private relay address). If you add a profile photo, it is stored on our server.
Your saves
When you’re signed in, your library — saves, folders and the photos and images in them — is synchronised with our server so it’s available on your devices. The server is operated by us on Hetzner infrastructure in Germany.
Processing your saves
To turn a save into a card, its content is processed by our service providers, who receive only what is needed for that save.
Sharing
Sharing is always your choice. When you share a folder, people who open its link can see its cards (or add to it, if you gave edit access). When you share a card, Pickle publishes it as a page on pickle.li that anyone with the link can view; it shows the card’s content, not your account details.
Photos
Pickle reads your photo library only to show the photos you can add, and only after you allow it. Only the photos you choose are copied into Pickle.
Logs and security
Our server keeps standard technical logs (such as request time and IP address) and usage counters to keep the service secure and prevent abuse. They are not used for advertising or profiling.
Deleting your data
You can delete any save or folder in the app at any time. To delete your account, open Profile → ⋯ → Delete Account. This removes your sign-in, synchronised library, folders you own, shared card pages and profile photo from our server, and removes the library from your iPhone. To also remove Pickle from your Apple ID, open Settings → your name → Sign-In & Security → Sign in with Apple. Server backups are replaced over time; deleted data is never restored to the service. You can also ask us to delete your data by email.
Children
Pickle is not directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their personal information.
Changes
If this policy changes, we’ll update this page and its date.
